Is there any difference between fun and interesting? Visiting Ocean Park is fun = Visiting Ocean Park is interesting (?) This book is fun = This book is interesting(?) A native speaker told me that there is a difference in meaning but I can't spot any big difference in meaning.

There is a difference. If you say that an activity is "fun", you mean that you enjoy doing it.
If you say that something is "interesting", you mean that it arouses or holds your attention. Often it is something that you will want to learn more about.
For example, I might find reading an article about current events in Iraq interesting; I wouldn't find reading it fun.
