Google finds lots of examples of "chasing a goal."

I think you can say ( I chase the goal ) but not constantly.

If you got your goal directly without a hard effort

you can not use the verb ( chase )

because this verb is of action, movement

so if you spent many months or years to get your goal

you can here use that verb.

It is more common to think of a goal as something fixed in place so that verbs such as achieve and reach come to mind. I did a Google search to get a rough estimate of usage.
