Dear all,

Could you please tell me what the difference is between the two sentences ?

1) Is there anything i can do for you?
2)Is there something i can do for you?

If possible, please explain more about the use of 'something'.

Thanks a lot.

.
There is no difference in intent. Anything is the neutral question word; the speaker has no preconceptions. Something suggests that the speaker presumes s/he can help the listener in some way.
