Are these sentences correct:

1-In his youth, he had been a professional football player, of which he was very proud.
2-Years ago, he had a soldier, of which he never spoke.

Hello. I think that they are not correct because "which" doesn't use whe you are talking about people. Insted of "which" you should use "who".

Hello,

Both sentences look fine to me.
I'm afraid Natalka is mistaken.
1-In his youth, he had been a professional football player, of which he was very proud.
which refers not to a person, but to the fact of being a professional football player. He was very proud that he had been a professional football player.

2-Years ago, he had a soldier, of which he never spoke.
which refers not to the soldier but to the fact of having a soldier. He never told anybody he had a soldier.

Best wishes.
