Hi,

I watched a movie with English subtitles yesterday and there was a sentence "I heard he go but disappeared"

I fail to understand the meaning of this sentence, shouldn't there be "went" in place of "go"?

Please help me.

It doesn't make sense. You may have misheard it. It must have been sth like I heard him go, then he disappeared.

I didn't hear it.I was reading subtitles on TV screen and I am sure it was "I heard he go but disappeared".But I agree with you it should have been sth like "I heard him go, then he disappeared.Because" I heard he go" doesn't make sense.
