This is confusing to me.

(1) referring to the degree to which a certain quality is present; "he was no heavier than a child" (WordNet)

Princeton people seem to think the "no" may mean the idea of "the same" or "no difference in something": his weight was the same as a child's.

Do you think my interpretation is right?

I can see that "no...." could be used to suggest "as...as." The very fact that a child (as in the example above) is mentioned leads the reader/listener to draw a comparison.
