Hi,
Please check these sentences and correct them.
1. There was (a) loud bang and a sudden blinding light.
2. They were lost in the blinding darkness/fog/snowstorm.
3. He was driving/working in the blinding [thick/heavy fog, heavy rain/snow].
4. They ran away by/under (the) blinding darkness.
Thanks in advance.

1. There was (a) loud bang and a sudden blinding light. [Ok. Include "a".]
2. They were lost in the blinding darkness/fog/snowstorm. ["Blinding" goes well with fog and snowstorm. It doesn't sound natural with "darkness"; I guess it is understood that you can't see in the dark.]
3. He was driving/working in the blinding [thick/heavy fog, heavy rain/snow]. [All sound ok.]
4. They ran away by/under (the) blinding darkness. [As I say, "blinding darkness doesn't sound natural. The common idiom would be:
- They ran away under the cloak of darkness.
- They ran away in the dark (of night). ]
