Hi,
I always hear people say we cannot have 2 verbs in a sentence in English grammar.
Is it the fact?
Thanks

No, a sentence can have several clauses, and each clause can have a verb, if not two. See 3 clauses in this sentence and the verbs:
The reason I couldn't reply / was / (that) I had to leave.
Perhaps a clause can't have more than 1 finite verb, but I have to think about that too.

Perhaps these will qualify:Well, I need to go think about that for a while.
Come walk with me to the theater.
I want to go study after school at Karen's house.
Dare is a special case (sometimes acting as a modal--which doesn't count):Do you dare eat two giant cheeseburgers?
Sometimes I have heard people around here sayRun jump in the car, or
Run jump into bed.
These are instructions to children to get into bed or the car. The double verb makes good sense in these sentences.
