Could you put them on the tray and take IT/them to the kitchen?

it = the tray

them = the things

Should I use "it" or"them" ?

Thanks

I think "it" because it means the thing that contains "them"

Both work:

Could you put the apples on the tray and take them to the kitchen? [mental focus on the apples

Could you put the apples on the tray and take it to the kitchen? [mental focus on the tray (containing the fishes)
