Hello teachers,

1. No one / Nobody likes a person with bad manners.
2. None likes a person with bad manners.
3. None has [have] arrived yet.
4. None has left there.

What I want to ask here is, Can "none" be used as in 2, 3 and 4 to refer to people? Or rather, are 2, 3, 4 correct?

Many thanks in advance.

No one means not anyone. None means not one from a set.

None can be used for people, and is restricted to a group of people known or identified beforehand. Otherwise, we use no one.

Examples:
Our parents teach us etiquette because none likes a person with bad manners.
I've checked with our friends and none have arrived yet.
The swimmers have been in the lake all day and none have left there.

Use instead:

2. No one likes a person with bad manners.
3. None of them/No one has [have] arrived yet.
4. None of them/No one has left there.
