Hi there!
Is the following phrase correct?
"the window becomes inactive"
Is it possible to describe the process in question using the phrase
"the window goes into the background"?

As shown in these samples from published books, the first is correct:
39 on "window becomes inactive"

However, I don't think the 2nd is correct in the strict sense, the desktop background is something else, but would not be surprised to see it used:

A window can be in the background and remain active.
