I know that in the function of parenthesis, when there is no subsequent "of", "as a result" is a clichee and preceded by an indefinite article.
Here I'm interested in "as a result of sthg" vs. "as the result of sthg".
Are they any different?
Thanks

Hi
when one says 'as a result of something', it implies that the action may have various consequences and the mentioned one is one among those.
'as the result of something' implies that the action has just one consequence and that is what is mentioned.
Does that clear your query?
