Hi
Are the following correct and common in English?

1. I would rather have met him here.
2. I would prefer to have met him here.

and if not, how can we express past preferences?

Both those could be referring to a present or future meeting.

No.

If your thought/preference is in the past, about an event in the past ("meet", which might have or not taken place) you need:

I would have preferred to meet him here.

If your thought/preference is now, about an event in the past (that didn't take place), you need:

I would prefer to have met him here.
