Plural?

Is this sentence correct:

"Our responsibility is thus much greater than we had supposed, for it concerns mankind as a whole."

I'm thinking instead of using "responsibility" the plural "responsibilities" should be used because "our" and "we" are plurals.

(It sounds fine as it is. You are speaking of a responsibility that we all share. If you want to point out individual responsibilities you can use the plural).
