Dear teachers!
Could you please check the following sentences and correct them for me?

1. Tears well up in my eyes when reminiscing about old video games like Doom and Quake created in the midst of the 90s.
2. The holiday season begun, [vocationers, holidaymakers, holidyers] reserve tickets and prepare for departures while travel agencies lick their lips at the thought of earned money.
3. She doesn't give a cuss about what this old [fart/buffer] is [gobbing/rehashing] about.
4-1. Without mincing my words, I say our situation isn't [to be] envied.
4-2. Without talking turkey, I say our situation isn't [to be] envied.
5. I came into the musical shop to look around and buy myself one guitar, but it was a daylight robbery when I saw the price increase.
6. You shouldn’t go to any country without a travel guide if you don’t want to find yourself on a wild-goose chase.
7-1. It’s impossible to work with Darren; his blow-hot-and-cold attidude paralyzes the project completely.
7-2. It’s impossible to work with Darren; he blows hot and cold about his attidude to our project which is completely paralyzed by it.
8. I bought that two-years-used guitar via eBay. I think I have struck a great deal because this stuff really looks spick and span. (Can "spick and span" be used in that way, or should it only be associated with house?)

Thank you very much in advance
Best regards

5. I came into the musical shop to look around and buy myself a guitar, but it was a daylight robbery when I saw the price increase! (correct)

6. You shouldn’t go to any country without a travel guide if you don’t want to find yourself on a wild-goose chase. (correct)

7-2. The previous one is correct

Thank you, Rob for your help. I can assure you that words like that in the 3rd sentence would never come out from my mouths nor would I mean to offend anyone saying so here naturally, but I just wanted to see whether the words "gob" and "rehash" can be used interchangeably and couldn't think of any other well-fitting sentence . Anyway, I would be glad hearing any help from you in the future.

Best regards

"but I just wanted to see whether the words "gob" and "rehash" can be used interchangeably"

(Hi. It's easy to miss little things, so I'll add a word for Rob. Rehash is a transitive verb, so needs an object. Gob(Br.)/gab(Am.) are intransitive, so need the preposition "about." You rehash a subject, but you gob/gab about it).
