Hi forum,I'm Asia,I'm only 17 and I'mat High school.
In my school, Engligh 's considered as the subject which's not important, because my country's not a power place so our student don't know how much important English is.
But I kknow that it's very very very important cus we must use E to talk to another country's people or apply for our jobs.In my school, we study English just for form's sake...
So what I can do to develop my english skill cus I want to study abroad wwhen I finish my High school.
thanks much

The reason most people are not able to improve their English is basically due to the fact that they REFUSE to read, listen or speak in English.

If you want to improve your English, READ!! the best source is newspaper. It's cheap, variety in vocabulary and it keeps you updated with the happenings around you!

Hello!
I am 14 and I come from asia too!
I come from Hong Kong.
In Hong Kong, English is our second language!
It's very important to learn English because we use English
in universities so if you want to study in a university, you must
know English!
I think you should read more, I think you can choose some simple
english books, like "Harry Potter" (Infact, it's quite hard for me,
HaHa!)You can also visit some english websites, just like here, if you
find something you can't understand, don't be afraid to ask!
Thanks!
(If you find mistakes in my words, tell me please!)
:D

i'm form hong kong 2!!

actually, i think reading english newspaper can
if u can handle scmp, u can go on to read times!==>is difficult to me! =p Or u can watch tvb pearls~~ "out back jack"~ "queer eyes"~~is pretty gd
it helps!(==>pl ignore the subtitle!!)

in my point of view, the most important is that you can be brave to speak up! Don't afraid that u will make many mistakes ~~

Learn form mistakes!!

I'm Spanish, and I sometimes feel as if we're the last European country in terms of language learning, althouh most our teachers are really wonderful, few hours a week and lack of the appropriate tools make it difficult to acquire the desirable proficiency

Hello, I understand you guy. I'm from Brazil and I'm 17 too, and I'm in High School like you, this is my last year at high school.
I know also the importance to study English, and I'd likje to study abroad and then to improve my English more and more too. By the Way, we have English here like a subject too.

I think one of the best way to improve our English is, to talk and to talk a lot, and reading somethings in English can help a lot too. I try doing these sort of things, so I think I'm improveing my English.

I hope I helped you.

see you, a hug.:)
