This one is regarding one post that I saw in forum:
1> I must have been insane.
2> I was insane.
Even though I read the explanation, I am not sure about the difference.
So, plz elaborate the same with more examples.

"I must have been insane" is meerly a figure of speech basically meaning that you misjudged something.
E.g: "I must have been insane to think that the artwork I bought at a garage sale would be worth a lot of money."
"I must have been insane when I thought my girlfriend would marry me after we had only been dating for a month."
"I was insane" is more complex and more definite than "I must have been insane". It can have multiple meanings. One is the same as "I must have been insane" but has a srtonger feeling. E.g "I was insane to think my girlfriend would marry me!"
Another meaning is to be extremely angry. E.g " I went insane (with anger) after I caught my girlfriend cheating."
