Hello everyone,

is there a passive form of the past perfect continous exiting? For example:

If I want to express the following two ideas:

My car got repaired. Therefore I couldn't come to the party last night.

Can I say: May car had been being repaired so that I couldn't come to the party last night? Or must I say: My car was getting repaired so that I couldn't come last night?

If there is a passive form of the past perfect continous existing and my example is false, give a valid example, please.

Thanks

is there a passive form of the past perfect continous exiting? (Yes).

For example:

If I want to express the following two ideas:

My car got repaired. Therefore I couldn't come to the party last night.

Can I say: My car had been being repaired so that I couldn't come to the party last night? ("My car had been being repaired" is the correct form for the past perfect continuous passive, but you are not using it correctly in the above sentence. "Had been being repaired" happened before last night, but we don't know if the repair was finished or was still going on, so it was no excuse for you to miss the party.

Or must I say: My car was getting repaired so that I couldn't come last night? (Yes, this is OK. "Was getting" means that it was still getting repaired last night).

If there is a passive form of the past perfect continous existing and my example is false, give a valid example, please.
(My car had been being repaired for six weeks which was very unsatisfactory, so I took it to a different mechanic.)
