Hi,
Please check if these sentences are correct and natural?
1-1. A lot of people (can) live very well on $25,000 a year.
1-2. A lot of people (can) live very well if they have $25,000 a year.
2. The local police detained him on suspicion of murder.
3. Where [do you head, are you headed]? / (The) Green Farm. So if we just go on down the road here, are we going the right direction? / Yes. It's about a mile that way. You can't miss its (ad) sign and ad-balloon.
4. [Where did this thing come from? or How could this thing happen?] Why was it found in your desk?
5. It's not as easy/simple as you thought/think!
6. Nothing is (ever) as easy/simple as it appears. Nothing's foolproof.
7. [What/Who is she to you? or What relation is she to you? or What relation are you?] / She's my mother.
