summary
The language of the In-crowd
Slang is a nonstandard language used in popular everyday speech and in informal situations, in which it captures the flavor of one conversation and is usually spoken rather than written. In addition, we can see a mixture of slang and standard language on our daily basis, represented as example on reports on education referring to high school dropouts.
A slang is usually created by the same process we use to create most new words by combining two words, shortening words, and borrowing from other languages; moreover, it could extend the meaning of phrases borrowed from other activities, adding to them spontaneity, directness and liveliness.
However, slang has its limitations whereas it is only performed as a characteristic language of a particular group of people who know each other (social or age group) and it changes very rapidly; therefore, it becomes difficult to be up-to-date with the latest slang.
