Is "lose heart to do sth" correct?

What's the difference between:
"fictitous" and "fictional" ?
"all" and "during"? Is "I have been worried during the week" correct?

We say:
"Who was picasso?" or "Who is Picasso?" ?
"Early in his career..." or "Early on in his career..."? Is there any difference?

Is "lose heart to do sth" correct? (It is correct, but not very common. I found only two examples in a search of the Internet).

What's the difference between:
"fictitous" and "fictional" ?
(Fictitous: the usual meaning is false, not genuine.
Fictional, like fiction, is imaginative, not real).

"all" and "during"? Is "I have been worried during the week" correct?
(Both are OK. During means at some time in the week, but not necessarily all week. All means the entire week).

We say:
"Who was Picasso?" or "Who is Picasso?" ? (Who was Picasso? seems right, seeing that he is dead).
"Early in his career..." or "Early on in his career..."? Is there any difference?
(The meaning is the same. My dictionary says "early on" is British).
