Hi,
Please check if these sentences are correct and natural?
1-1. After his father's death, he felt guilty/guilt for not [doing, having done] more with his father. ['Doing' is incorrect, isn't it?]
1-2. After his father's death, he felt guilty/guilt that he [didn't do, hadn't done] more with his father.
2-1. After his father's death, he felt guilty/guilt for not [wanting, having wanted] to be around him. ['Wanting' is incorrect, isn't it?]
2-2. After his father's death, he felt guilty/guilt that he [didn't want, hadn't wanted] to be around him.
3-1. He felt guilty/guilt for [displeasing, having displeased] his beloved (family/people). [Do both tenses mean the same?]
3-2. He felt guilty/guilt that he [displeased, had displeased] his beloved. [Do both tenses mean the same?]
Thanks a million.
Ann

1-1. After his father's death, he felt guilty/guilt for not [doing, having done] more with his father. ['Doing' is incorrect, isn't it?](Right).
1-2. After his father's death, he felt guilty/guilt that he [<strike>didn't do,</strike> hadn't done] more with his father.
2-1. After his father's death, he felt guilty/guilt for not [wanting, having wanted] to be around him. ['Wanting' is incorrect, isn't it?](Right).
2-2. After his father's death, he felt guilty/guilt that he [<strike>didn't want,</strike> hadn't wanted] to be around him.
3-1. He felt guilty/guilt for [displeasing, having displeased] his beloved (family/people). [Do both tenses mean the same?](Felt...displeasing happen at the same time in the past. Felt...having displeased means he displeased them earlier than he started feeling guilty).
3-2. He felt guilty/guilt that he [displeased, had displeased] his beloved. [Do both tenses mean the same?] (Same as 3-1.)
(In all these sentences guilty is more common than guilt).
