3-The longer the wait is, the greater the joy will be.

2-The older you get, the fewer things seem standing in line for. (No).
The older you get, the less things seem worth standing in line for. (OK).


3-The longer the wait is, the greater the joy will be. (Colloquial).

4-The longer is the wait, the greater will be the joy. (Grammatical).
