Hi,
Please check these sentences and correct them.
1. Your story sounds like a real tragedy/fantasy/adventure.
2. If he had not taken me on (the job) then, I would still be out of work.
3. You did that [on propose, intensionally, proposedly].
4. To say so/that doesn't become you. [Which is better, so or that?]
5. To say so/that will make your mother very happy. [Which is better, so or that?]

2. If he had not taken me on (the job) then, I would still be out of work. (OK).
3. You did that [on purpose, intentionally, purposely]. (Note spelling).
4. To say so/that doesn't become you. [Which is better, so or that?]
(The meaning is somewhat different. So often has an affirmative meaning, confirming what has been said previously, while that neither confirms nor denies, but only states what was said previously.
Both are OK).
5. To say so/that will make your mother very happy. [Which is better, so or that?] (Which one is better depends on the meaning you want).
