Hi,
Please check these sentences and correct them.
1. The children are absorbed/engrossed/devoted in playing internet games.
2. I've been so absorbed/engrossed/devoted in my work here I haven't even thought about it.
3. The kids were absorbed/engrossed/devoted in/into/by the splendid fireworks.
4. Absorption in chemistry is the taking up of one substance by another. For example, a gas such as oxygen may be absorbed, or dissolved, in/into water.
5. The power required to drive an automobile steadily at medium or high speeds is primarily absorbed in/into overcoming air resistance.
6. By the 3rd century AD, they [had been, was] virtually absorbed by/in/into Arab tribes.
7. Some contemporary anthropologists contend that a pure Ainu culture no longer exists, having been absorbed by/in/into the Japanese culture.
8. In 925 Alsace [was absorbed by/in/into, became part of] the Holy Roman Empire.
