Bejeebers/bejeepers/bejabbers is a euphamism for by Jesus.
A euphamism is an expression that is thought to be milder than one which is considered to be offensive. Bejeebers (etc) does mean wits or senses. It can also mean stuffing, as: He beat the bejeebers out of the thug. He shot the bejeepers out of the door. I'd say, use it very informally).
