Are these all OK and natural?

1. I'm afraid to say that he drove so recklessly.
2. John drinks so heavily: this/that is why I don't like him.
3. His argument easily [proved, be proved] correct.
4. Some of his friend visited him in (the) hospital.
5. He gulped down the cold water.
6. He picked up a cold drink.
7. He sat down heavily on the sofa.

1. I'm afraid to say that he drove so recklessly. (This would be more natural with a verb other than say. "I'm afraid to report" gives the idea that you are going to say something about something that happened earlier (i.e. drove)).
2. John drinks so heavily: this/that is why I don't like him. (OK).
3. His argument easily [proved, proved to be] correct.
4. Some of his friends visited him in (the) hospital.
5. He gulped down the cold water. (OK).
6. He picked up a cold drink. (OK).
7. He sat down heavily on the sofa. (OK).
