1. What do you say ( imagine, guess, think, suppose) he likes?

2. Do you know what he likes?

3. Do you imagine( guess, think) what he likes?

4. What do you know he likes?

I've heard that the first and second sentences are correct. I am , however, wondering why the third and fourth sentences are wrong!!!

Would you explain them in detail like in speaking and writing?

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you. And have a nice day...:-)

1. What do you say ( imagine, guess, think, suppose) he likes? (Most common are: imagine, think, suppose).

2. Do you know what he likes? (OK).

3. Do you imagine( guess, think) what he likes? (Unnatural. Here is a possible sentence:
"How do you know what your husband wants for his birhtdays? Do you guess what he likes?" The use of the simple present tense implies repeated action).
Can you imagine/guess what he likes? (Natural).

4. What do you know he likes? (OK. The meaning is: What are you sure that he likes. You know that he likes something; what is it?).
