1. The specter of poverty <strike>raised</strike> rose <strike>on</strike>/over the family after the father lost his job.
2. The well passed exam makes him think sanguine of his future. [I don't think the subject is wrong, but it doesn't sound natural to me. I don't think "sanguine" is used correctly here; you make it sound like an adverb modifying "think", but it should be an adjective modifying the subject. (I'm actually not used to "sanguine" in any case, but the dictionary says is can be a synonym for "confident", so that should be OK.) Maybe,
- His good results on the exam make him feel sanguine/confident about his future. ]
3. If not with satisfying result, Josh is happy to have finally got over the exams. [This doesn't sound natural. Try:
- Even if the result was not satisfying, Josh is ... ]
4. They made <strike>out</strike> inconclusive arguments for their client’s innocence.
5. They were just sitting in a sepulchral silence with their eyes <strike>astraying</strike> straying/wandering across the room. ["straying" give the idea that they were looking somewhere they weren't supposed to.]
6. I would like the results to be announced asap; I hate being kept in <strike>suspence</strike> suspense. [The abbreviation "asap" for "as soon as possible" is very informal.]
