Dear Teachers,

1) She pushes herself very hard.

- What does this mean?

2) How am I doing so far?

- What does this mean?

3) Computers are going to take over our lives one of these days.

- I don’t understand “ one of these days”.

4) What were you like as a kid?

- Can I say “ what were you like when you were a kid? “?

Thanks a lot.

Ngamary.

1) She pushes herself very hard.

- What does this mean? She does more than what she is supposed to do, (to the point of risking her health when studying, working, exercising, or doing any other activity).

2) How am I doing so far?

- What does this mean? How (good or bad) am I doing up to this point (now)?

3) Computers are going to take over our lives one of these days.

- I don’t understand “ one of these days”. The time around when the statement is made. It may be days, weeks, or months; maybe even a few years.

4) What were you like as a kid?

- Can I say “ what were you like when you were a kid? “? Yes.
