The following sentences are a translation of Japanese into English. My question is which is more natural, (1) or (2) below?

In my part of the country, ( ) usually come out toward the end of March and are in full bloom at the beginning of April.
(1) cherry blossoms
(2) the cherry blossoms

Any comment would be appreciated.

Both are natural, IMO.
#2 is specific, so I prefer this.
