Dear Teachers,
1) I have a red car.
-Can I say “one” instead of “a”?
2) I sing in the church choir.
-Is this ok to say?
3) My hobby is collecting stamps.
-Why do we add “ing” to “collect” in this sentence?
4) Thanks beforehand.
-This means : Thanks in advacnce.
Thanks a lot.
Ngamary.

If you use "one" you are suggesting that you have more than one car. Example: I have one red car. My other cars are blue and silver.
2) I sing in the church choir.
-Is this ok to say? Yes
3) My hobby is collecting stamps.
-Why do we add “ing” to “collect” in this sentence?
Collecting is a gerund. It is the subject complement of "hobby."
4) Thanks beforehand.
-This means : Thanks in advance.Yes, that is the meaning. "Thanks in advance" is common. I have not heard anyone say, "Thanks beforehand."
