What is understood by a 3-bedroom rancher? Is it a house located out in a farm or is it a house in a city with all the rooms in one floor?

A ranch house is a house on a ranch, usually one-story; also, any house of the same style, often in suburbs. Rancher usually means a person who owns a ranch. Given modern advertising, a 3-bedroom rancher would be a house with all rooms on one floor.
