Hi,
Please tell me the difference in meaning?
1-1. I'm ashamed of dancing in public.
1-2. I'm ashamed to dance in public.
2-1. She went on talking.
2-2. She went on to talk.
Thanks a million.

Please tell me the difference in meaning?
1-1. I'm ashamed of dancing in public. [Probably implies that you sometimes do dance in public, but you feel that you shouldn't do it.]
1-2. I'm ashamed to dance in public. [Probably explains why in fact you do not dance in public.]
-- I think either could have either meaning, but what I said is what most likely was meant.

2-1. She went on talking. [Was talking and she continued to do it.]
2-2. She went on to talk. [She continued what she was doing and then began to talk. This is not a very likely sentence. You hear this construction in sentences like,
- She started work as a salesperson, and she went on to become a district manager.
