Hi,
Please check these sentences. I think the simple gerund forms are much better though the [having pp] forms are also correct. Am I right?
1. I remember [seeing, having seen] him before.
2. I forgot [posting, having posted] the letter.
3. He admitted [making, having made] a mistake.

-- In general both forms sound ok to me.

1. I remember [seeing, having seen] him before. [Both ok.]
2. I forgot [posting, having posted] the letter. [Actually, I prefer
- I forgot to post the letter. [Means that you didn't post the letter.]
-- The other forms sound like awkward ways to say:
- I forgot that I posted the letter. ]
3. He admitted [making, having made] a mistake. [Both ok.]
