( What is the meaning of "drink their courage out of a fruit jar?)(It means that they fortify themselves with alcohol that they drink from a (pint) jar that was meant to hold preserved fruit).

2) what is the meaning of " penny loafer"? (A loafer is a casual, low-heeled shoe style. There is a leather band across the arch which has a slit into which a penny may be inserted. Having a penny in your loafer became a "good luck charm", thus the name "penny loafer").

3) A wildcat strike usually last for a long time.
( what is the meaning of "wildcat"?) (A wildcat strike is a labor strike that is not called or sanctioned by the officials of a labor union).

4) What is synonym for "jig" as a device for guiding a tool or for holding machine work in place? (Dictionary definition: a plate, box or open frame for holding work or for guiding a tool.
Each trade has its own vocabulary--words that are used within the trade and are not common to
everybody else. If you are talking to people who use jigs, they will know what you mean. Otherwise, you may have to explain what you mean by using the dictionary definition).
