Hi,

[1] Would you please rephrase these sentences into natural ones for me?
1. Would you watch the TV or (would you) rather [hear, listen to] some music?
2. [During a drive] Why don't we [hear, listen to, enjoy] some music?
3. I can't believe what [I'm hearing, I hear] here.
4. [In the early fall] If you listen closely, you can crickets chirping!
5. [In the late fall] If you listen closely, you can hear fallen leaves rustling.

[2] Would you please explain to me the difference in meaning between "to listen for something" and "to listen to something," if possible, with some example sentences?

Thanks in advance.
Have a good day.

[1] Would you please rephrase these sentences into natural ones for me?
1. Would you like to/prefer to watch the TV or would you rather [<strike>hear,</strike> listen to] some music?
2. [During a drive] Why don't we <strike>hear,</strike> listen to <strike>, enjoy</strike>] some music?
3. I can't believe what [I'm hearing, I hear] here.
Both are OK, but used differently. Examples:
I can't believe what I hear on this radio station, they are always making mistakes. (Habitual).
I can't believe what I am hearing. Are you telling me that you are finally going to get married? (Happening right now).

4. [In the early fall] If you listen closely, you can hear crickets chirping!
5. [In the late fall] If you listen closely, you can hear fallen leaves rustling.
(OK).
[2] Would you please explain to me the difference in meaning between "to listen for something" and "to listen to something," if possible, with some example sentences?
(Listen for something means that you expect to hear it.
Example: I am going out for a minute. Please listen for the oven buzzer, it might go off before I get back.
The school bus always stops at the railway crossing and the driver opens the door to listen for a train.
Listen to something means that you are hearing it and paying attention.
Example:
Listen carefully to the professor so that you don't miss anything.
He likes to relax and listen to classical music).
