1. She [was wearing, wore] a plain blue dress. [Which is the everyday expression?] [Both are correct. In ordinary conversation, you are much more likely to use "was wearing". In formal descriptions you hear "wore":
- The bride wore a white ruffled dress with an eight-foot train. [In a newspaper write-up of a wedding.]
2. I [<strike>am having</strike>, have] blue walls in my room. [Which is the everyday expression?] ["To have" is non-continuous except when you are emphasizing a temporary condition:
- She must be having an especially bad day. ]
3. You don't look (like an) Italian. [I think both are correct and omitting 'like an' is more common. Am I right?] [Yes, you are correct.]
4. I haven't got around to taking many pictures. [What does this mean? Is it correct or natural?] [It is both natural and common. It means that you intend to take pictures sometime, but it isn't a high-priority activity, and you have not done it yet.]
5. I have lived in this neighborhood/<strike></strike>street/area [or: on this street] for 20 years.
6. She's been singing in<strike>/on</strike> a church choir since (she was) a high school student. [It sounds much better with "she was" included.]
7. They are storing [a vast/large, only a small] amount of fabric. [Ok.]
