Hello,

Can you please tell me which ones are present unreal and which ones are future unreal sentences.

1.If we did it this way, we could get the better result.
2. If Sam passed the exam, he could apply for a job as secretary.
3. What time would we get there if we took the subway.
4. If it didn't snow today, we couln't go skiing.
5 .If she finished early, we could swim together after work.

PattersonI just answered your original question, which included the same sentences.

Note that future unreal is very uncommon, since almost never is a the outcome of a future event a known fact. Future hypothetical, where you think the result is very unlikely, is a bit more common.

Present unreal far most often uses a form of the verb to be ("If I were you …") or else a non-continuous verb ("If he knew what you are doing, he would be angry). With continuous verbs, such a statement makes sense only if you can interpret it as a statement about something that might happen on a regular basis.
