>Please explain the meaning of the sentences. These sentences are from the drama"DEATH OF A SALEMAN".
1)You make moutains mountains out of molehills.
== You treat unimportant things as though they are very important.
2)You are both built like Adonises.
== You both have physically excellent bodies.
3)The world is an oyester oyster, but you don't crack it open no a mattress.
[This doesn't make sense to me; did you quote it exactly? Maybe I need some context.]
4)When a deposit bottle is broken, you don't get your nickel back.
== In the past, when you bought a soft drink, you would pay 5 cents extra for the bottle. When you returned the bottle to the store, they would pay you five cents for it. (The soft drink company would wash, sterilize, and re-use the bottle.) The sentence says that if you break the bottle, you cannot return it. I presume that the sentence was being used symbolically to refer to some other situation where someone failed to do what was expected and thus did not receive some expected benefit.
5)Nerves of iron, that Biff !
== Biff is very brave in situations that would frighten most people.
6)Stop making excuses for him! He always! always wiped the floor with you.
== He has often mistreated you in the past. You should not pretend that things that he does wrong are OK.
7)He is not to be allowed to fall into his grave like an old dog.
[Sorry. I would need more context to know what this referred to.]
8)What a woman! they broke the mold when they made her.
== She is a very fine woman. There are no others who are just like her.
9)I can't take blood from the stone.
== I'd expect to see "a stone". That quote would refer to some person and say that the person was incapable of accomplishing some task, so no one should expect him/her to do that.
10)What is the meaning of the "Gee" and "Geez"
== In practice, these are both expletives, exclamations to show emotion without any specific meaning. They are milder forms of taboo expressions of profanity:
"Gee" is the initial of the word "God", "Geez" is pronounced the same as the first syllable of the word "Jesus". "Gee" and "Geez" have no religious connotation.
