Dear teacher,

A-Please correct the following sentences!

1)Neither the scientists nor the researcher UNDERSTAND their origin.
2)None of the artifacts DATE BACK to A.D. 100.
3)Mayan goods HAS been found in a Teotihuacan tomb.
4)The number of artifacts found ARE amazing.
5)A number of scientists IS investigating this discorery.
6)However, the position of the bodies HAS something to do with Maya pratices.
7)Jade, found inside the tombs, WAS used by both the Mayan and the Teotihuacanos.
8) He said that people here are unconscious when they enter/drive into the circle or a four way crossroads.
9)She is as old as I/I am/me.(Are all three correct?)
10) She sings as well as he/he does/him. (Are all three correct?)

B-I have a question about tag question. How are the answers if you allow or don't allow with the following tag question:
I can go out, can't I?

C-Please tell me what the difference between ON THE SEA/RIVER and BY THE SEA/RIVER are.
Ex: My village is ON the sea.
My village is BY the sea.

Answer: Yes, you can. No, you can't.

C-Please tell me what the difference between ON THE SEA/RIVER and BY THE SEA/RIVER are.
Ex: My village is ON the sea.
On the sea(side)/on the river usually means beside the sea/river. This may cause confusion because a person who lives in a houseboat lives on the river. A person who works on a ship and has no other home lives on the sea. For clarity, I prefer by/beside the sea/river.
My village is BY the sea. (OK).
