2. He polished his car [to shine, until it shone].
3. As if waking from a long nap, he rubbed his eyes and face with both hands.
4. He cleaned the dust and dirt off (of) the old book.
5. He moved all the stuff out (of) his room.
6. He shoved the newspaper in his pocket.
7. Tom has bitten me a few times in the past.

Best regards.

Would you please check these sentences and correct them for me?
1. He scratched/scrubbed (a spot on) his arm [<strike>to get red,</strike> until it got red]. (...to get it red...is also OK grammatically, but doesn't make much sense. "To get it clean" would be OK).
2. He polished his car [to shine it, until it shone].
3. As if waking from a long nap, he rubbed his eyes and face with both hands. (OK).
4. He cleaned the dust and dirt off (of) the old book. (OK. Br. Eng. prefers the omission of of. Off of is OK in Am. Eng).
5. He moved all the stuff out of his room. (Include of).
6. He shoved the newspaper in his pocket. (OK. into is also OK).
7. Tom has bitten me a few times in the past. (OK).
