1. Everybody sacrifice their lives to yours.
2. Everybody sacrifice their lives for yours.
Which of the preceding sentences is correct? I think #2 is, but I heard #1 said on TV today.
Thanks in advance.

Both are incorrect and should be:-
"Everybody(=Every person) sacrifices his/her life for yours(=your life)."

"Sacrifice something to" is typically used the way like "The king sacrificed his daughter to the gods so that his ships were able to arrive safely". This may be rephrased as "The king sacrificed his daughter's life for the safe arrival of his ships". "Sacrifice" is commonly used as a dynamic verb, so I take "Everybody sacrifices their life for yours" as if it says a permanent truth. If it is so, the saying sounds a bit weird to me, though "Everybody will sacrifice their life for their own child's" sounds natural to me.
