Would somebody help me for puctuation and proofreading? please.

1)Oedipus was living very( a )happy and prosperous life in Corinth as a prince.
2)Hence (,) he faced the consequences for doing something hopeless/useless without thinking about jeopardy.
3)Furthermore, he had one more option to avoid that tragedy by changing his path to (the) another near by country rather than Thebes.
4)Laius and Jocasta were blessed by the/a baby boy, Oedipus.
5)To me (,) it is unnecessary to know about fortune.
6)In fact, those people were trying to protect their country by not allowing any stranger, and that wasn't absolutely their fault.
7)Any other country should be good enough for him.
(Is it correct?please help)

Thanks a million.
