Hello everybody,

I would like to know if "whether" must always be followed by "or not".
For example, I know that:
"I do not know whether he will come or not."
is correct, but is:
"I do not know whether he will come."
also correct.

I think "I do not know whether he will come." is also correct because "or not" is understood. e.g. "Whether the minister would come(or not) to the opening ceremony is still not definite."
