HE HAS A MATH CLASS.
HE HAS HIS MATH CLASS FROM 8 TO 9 AM

If your friend is in the classroom now, then he is in math class.

Yes, justlovelyfriends, you are correct. He has a math class, and it's from 8:00 to 9:00, but unless that time period is now, he may not be in math class. So you would be wise to say that your friend has a math class now, to remove the suspense.
