Is this sentence correct:
1-Few of them wore helmets, fewer still wore coats of ring mail, which cost good money from the armorers of Rhineland.


I suppose the armorers made the coats of ring mail and were paid the money, but the sentence makes it sound as if the money came from the armorers.

I suppose the armorers made the coats of ring mail and were paid the money, but the sentence makes it sound as if the money came from the armorers. I agree that the sentence is not well constructed. Here are two ways to fix it:
1-Few of them wore helmets, fewer still wore coats of ring mail, which cost good money, from the armorers of Rhineland. (Not very good).
1-Few of them wore helmets, fewer still wore coats of ring mail from the armorers of Rhineland, which cost good money.
