On the way down--- sung by Ryan Cabrera

( what in parentheses are my questions.)

And on the way down
I saw you
And you saved me
From myself
And I won’t forget
The way you loved me
On the way down
Almost fell right through (What is the function of “right”?)
But I held onto you

I’ve been wondering why
It’s only me
Have you always been inside
Waiting to breathe (I can’t image the meaning of “breathe” here.)
It’s alright
Sunlight
On my face
I wake up and yeah, I’m alive cause…

I was so afraid
Of going under
But now
The weight of the world
Feels like nothing, no, nothing (Can the subject “weight of the world” feel something?)

.
Almost fell right through (What is the function of “right”?) -- It is an adverb. Right = completely, utterly

Waiting to breathe (I can’t image the meaning of “breathe” here.) -- Breathe = live, I suppose; it seems to be used metaphorically of whatever is 'inside' the singer that wants to get out... or something like that.

The weight of the world
Feels like nothing, no, nothing (Can the subject “weight of the world” feel something?) -- the structure is: the weight of the world feels like nothing (to me). It is not the weight that is feeling; the weight is being felt (actually, not being felt) by the singer.
