long time no see, i 'm gald to see you all here. these days , i am very interested in english etyma,but couldn't find enough information about it .

could you give me some?"Etyma" seems to be the plural of "etymon", which means a word in some other language that was the basis for a given word. There are some examples in the definition in the on-line American Heritage Dictionary:

When you look up most words in that dictionary or in the Merriam-Webster on-line dictionary:
> http://m-w.com

you usually will see a section called "etymology", where you will likely see some etyma of the word you looked up.

(I had never heard of "etyma" and "etymon" before seeing your question. I am familiar, of course, with the concept of etymology.)

thank you peter. some people belive that chinese and english had some similarities at their origins. it's very interesting .such as nose ,when you say nose ,you 'll use your nose to give this sound 'n',when you say teeth ,you 'll use your teeth to give this sound 'th'.i'll be back soon, and talk with all of you with this problem.
