- Jane came home to dinner. (Emphasis on her arrival).
I think that's supposed to show the time of her arrival - just to a dinner.
No, I thought it over, and now I think that this points at the fact that she came to have dinner exactly at home, and not to any other place.
- Jane came home to have dinner. (Emphasis on her intent)
And this points out the purpose of her visit - to dinner at home.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

e. Jane came home to dinner. (Emphasis on her arrival).
g. Jane came home to have dinner. (Emphasis on her intent). The sentences have much the same meaning, the difference is in how they are generally used.
Example:
I invited Jane to dinner.
Jane came to dinner at my house.
I prepared dinner; Jane simply arrived.
Jane came home to dinner.
Her mother cooked dinner; Jane arrived on time.
Jane came home to have dinner.
Jane took an active role.
Jane came home to have dinner and then go back to school.
Jane's plan/intent was: 1) eat dinner, 2) go back to school.
